Mama Bot Terms of Use

Effective date: October 8, 2026

Welcome to Mama Bot. These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Bar-All, Inc ("Bar-All", "we", "us"), the maker of the Mama Bot app. On your phone and inside the app, Mama Bot appears as "MamaBot", which is also the name of its built-in AI helper. These Terms cover the whole app, including the Journal, MamaBot chat and subscriptions.

By creating an account, accepting these Terms in the app, or using Mama Bot, you agree to these Terms, including the Community Guidelines below. If you don't agree, please don't use Mama Bot. The app asks you to read and accept these Terms by tapping "Agree and Continue" before you use it, and we keep a record that you did. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information, including that record.

Who can use Mama Bot

  • Mama Bot is designed for adults. You must be at least 13 years old to use it. If you're under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you may use Mama Bot only with a parent's or guardian's permission, and they agree to these Terms for you.
  • Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens on your account, so tell us right away if you think someone else has used it.
  • One person per account. Don't share your account or create one for someone else.
  • You may not use Mama Bot if we've removed you from it before, or if the law doesn't allow you to use it.

Mama Bot is not medical advice

Mama Bot is a general wellness and meal-tracking tool for the Trim Healthy Mama way of eating. It isn't a medical device, and it doesn't diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. Your plan, protein anchors, ranges, fuel types and every nutrition number are estimates for general information. They are not medical, nutrition or dietary advice.

Talk with your doctor or another qualified health professional before you change how you eat or exercise, especially if you're pregnant or nursing, have diabetes or another medical condition, take medication, or have a history of disordered eating. Never ignore professional advice or delay getting it because of something in Mama Bot. In a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number. If you're thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 in the U.S. to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or contact your local emergency services.

AI features

AI Food Scan and MamaBot chat use artificial intelligence, and AI can be wrong. A photo estimate can miss foods or misjudge portions, and MamaBot can misunderstand a question or make mistakes. Check results before you rely on them. Every nutrition estimate stays editable before you save it. Don't use AI features to create content that breaks these Terms, and don't send them other people's personal information or photos of other people. As our Privacy Policy explains, what you send to these features is processed by our AI providers.

Subscriptions and free trials

  • MamaBot Pro. Using Mama Bot requires a MamaBot Pro subscription. It's offered monthly or yearly at the prices shown in the app before you buy.
  • Billing. You buy and pay through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and their terms apply to your purchase. Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account.
  • Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the current price, until you cancel. You can manage or cancel it at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel before it renews. On the App Store, that means at least 24 hours before the current period ends. After you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
  • Free trials. New subscribers may be eligible for a free trial. Before you subscribe, the app shows whether you're eligible and how long the trial lasts. Apple or Google decides eligibility. If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your paid subscription starts and renews automatically.
  • Refunds. Apple or Google handles refunds under its own policies. We can't issue refunds for store purchases ourselves.
  • Price changes. If the price changes, Apple or Google will let you know as its rules require.
  • Deleting your account doesn't cancel your subscription. Cancel it in the App Store or Google Play first.
  • Coaches. Approved Trim Healthy Mama coaches can use Mama Bot free while they're on our coach roster.
  • We may add, change or remove features over time.

Your content

"Your content" means what you add to Mama Bot, such as your logs, Journal posts, photos, display name and profile photo, MamaBot questions, recipes, notes and reports.

  • It's yours. You keep ownership of your content.
  • Permission you give us. You give Bar-All a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, display and transmit your content only as needed to run Mama Bot. For example, we use it to show your posts to the friends and coach you choose, to send photos and questions to our AI providers when you use those features, and to review content for safety. This license ends when your content is deleted, except for copies kept in reports or backups as our Privacy Policy describes, or as the law requires.
  • Who sees it. Your Journal is invite-only. When you log a meal, Mama Bot adds it to your Journal, and by default meals and prayer requests are shared with your friends and with any coach you link. A linked coach can also see your meal log. You can change this at any time in Journal Settings or on each post. Your other posts are private unless you choose to share them.
  • Your responsibility. Only post content you have the right to share, and only share photos of other people with their permission. You're responsible for your content and for following the Community Guidelines.
  • Removal. We may remove or hide any content that we believe breaks these Terms or puts people at risk. We don't review everything before it's posted.

Community Guidelines

The Journal is a small, invite-only place for Mamas to cheer each other on with friends, prayer partners and coaches. Everyone deserves to feel safe here. These guidelines apply to everything you share in Mama Bot: Journal posts and photos, prayer requests, display names, profile photos, coach bios, report notes and anything you send to MamaBot.

What's not allowed

Objectionable content and behavior include:

  • Harassment and bullying: insulting, mocking, shaming or threatening anyone, including body-shaming, weight-shaming, food-shaming or mocking someone's faith; unwanted repeated contact; or encouraging others to pile on.
  • Hate: attacking or demeaning people because of their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, disease, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, veteran status or any other protected characteristic, including slurs, hateful symbols and stereotypes.
  • Sexual content: nudity, sexually explicit or sexually suggestive content, or sexual solicitation. Progress photos are private and stay on your phone, so don't post them or any other revealing photos. Content that sexualizes or endangers a minor is strictly forbidden, and we report it to the authorities.
  • Violence: threats of violence, content that promotes or glorifies violence or terrorism, graphic or gory images, or encouraging dangerous acts.
  • Promoting self-harm: encouraging or glorifying suicide or self-injury, or promoting eating disorders, such as starving, purging, extreme restriction, dangerous fasting or "thinspiration". Sharing your own struggles to ask for support is okay. If you're in crisis, please call or text 988 in the U.S. or contact your local emergency services.
  • Spam and selling: ads, sales pitches, recruiting for a business or multi-level marketing, affiliate or referral links, giveaways, scams, phishing, or repetitive or unwanted posts.
  • Impersonation: pretending to be someone else, including a Trim Healthy Mama founder, coach or team member or the Mama Bot team, or using a misleading name or photo.
  • Illegal activity: promoting, selling or arranging illegal goods or services, such as drugs or weapons; fraud; or content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights.
  • Sharing other people's private information: posting someone's address, phone number, email, health details or photos without their permission, or sharing what friends posted in their Journal outside the app, including as screenshots.
  • Medical misinformation: false or dangerous health claims, such as telling someone to stop prescribed medication or treatment, promoting unproven cures or supplements as treatment, or giving diet advice that puts someone's health at risk.

Zero tolerance

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. If content breaks these guidelines, we'll remove it, and we may suspend or permanently remove the account that posted it, even for a first violation, depending on how serious it is.

How to report and block

  • Report a post: tap the menu (⋮) on the post, choose "Report This Post", pick what's wrong, add a note if you like, and tap "Send Report". Afterwards you can hide the post just for you while our team takes a look, or block the person who posted it.
  • Report a person, for example for an offensive name or profile photo, or for how they're treating you: in Journal → Friends, tap the menu (⋮) next to a friend or a friend request, or tap the menu at the top of a friend's Journal, and choose "Report" followed by their name. To report your coach, tap "Report Coach" on the Your Coach card in the Profile tab. Coaches can tap the menu next to a client in Profile → My Clients. To report someone you've already blocked, tap "Report" next to them in Journal Settings → Blocked People. After you report someone, you can block them too.
  • Report a MamaBot answer: in Chat, tap the flag under the answer, pick what's wrong, add a note if you like, and tap "Send Report". Our team sees that answer and the question you asked, plus your note.
  • We never tell anyone that you reported them or their post.
  • Block someone: choose "Block" followed by their name from the menu (⋮) on their Journal post, next to a friend or a friend request in Journal → Friends, at the top of a friend's Journal, or next to a client in My Clients, or tap "Block Coach" on the Your Coach card. Blocking ends any friendship, friend request or coaching link between you, so you stop seeing each other's posts. It also removes their reactions on your posts and their notifications from your inbox, and neither of you can connect with the other again while the block is in place. We don't tell them.
  • Unblock someone: on the Journal tab, open Journal Settings (the gear), tap Blocked People, then "Unblock". Unblocking doesn't bring back your friendship, coaching link or their removed reactions. You'd connect again from the start.
  • Other tools: you can unfriend someone (Journal → Friends), leave your coach ("Leave Coach" on the Your Coach card) or, as a coach, stop coaching a client, and choose who sees each of your posts.
  • Anything else: email us at developer@bar-all.com, for example to report someone you can't report in the app, or something serious that needs our attention. If someone is in immediate danger, contact emergency services first.

What we do about it

Our team reviews reports promptly. Depending on what we find, we may:

  • remove the content;
  • warn the person who posted it;
  • limit their use of the Journal, friends or coaching;
  • suspend or permanently remove their account, and refuse them future access;
  • report illegal content, including any content that exploits children, to law enforcement or other authorities.

We may take these steps without notice, and also when we find a violation ourselves. When you report a post, a person or a MamaBot answer, we keep the report and a copy of what you reported (the post, the person's display name, or the MamaBot answer and your question), even if it's later deleted or changed, so our team can review it and keep the community safe. Our Privacy Policy explains how long. A MamaBot answer is written by AI, not by another person, so we use those reports to correct MamaBot. The answer stays in your chat history unless you delete it. If you think we made a mistake, email us and we'll take another look.

Using Mama Bot fairly

When you use Mama Bot, don't:

  • break the law or help anyone else break it;
  • copy, modify or reverse engineer the app, or try to extract its source code, except where the law allows it;
  • get around the subscription, security measures or usage limits, or access accounts or information that aren't yours;
  • use bots, scrapers or other automated means to access Mama Bot, or misuse invites or coach codes, such as by posting them publicly to collect connections;
  • overload, disrupt or interfere with the app or our servers, or upload viruses or other harmful code;
  • resell, rent or commercially exploit Mama Bot or its content, including MamaBot answers and Trim Healthy Mama material.

Coaches

If you use Mama Bot as a coach, you'll see each client's information only as that client allows. Use it only to support that client, keep it confidential, and don't share it with anyone else or use it for any other purpose. Follow these Terms and the Community Guidelines in everything you share. Coach access ends if you're removed from the coach roster.

Our app and content

Mama Bot, including its software, design, text and graphics, belongs to Bar-All and its licensors. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under these Terms and the rules of the store you got it from. Trim Healthy Mama names, recipes and materials belong to their respective owners. Some food information comes from Open Food Facts, available under the Open Database License, and from USDA FoodData Central. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.

Other companies' services

Mama Bot relies on services from other companies, such as Apple, Google and the providers named in our Privacy Policy. Their own terms apply to your use of their services, such as your App Store or Google Play account. We aren't responsible for services, websites or content we don't control.

Ending your use

You can stop using Mama Bot at any time, and you can delete your account in the app (Profile → Delete Account). We may suspend or end your access, or remove content, if you break these Terms, if the law requires it, or to protect our users or Mama Bot. We may also stop offering Mama Bot, and if we do, we'll try to give you reasonable notice. Parts of these Terms that by their nature should continue, such as the license for content kept in reports and backups, the disclaimers and the limits on liability, continue after your account ends.

Disclaimers

To the fullest extent the law allows, Mama Bot is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't promise that Mama Bot will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that nutrition information or AI results will be accurate, or that you'll reach any particular health or weight result. Some places don't allow these exclusions, so some of them may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Bar-All and its officers, employees and partners won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of Mama Bot. Our total liability for any claim relating to Mama Bot is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for Mama Bot in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

Your responsibility to us

To the extent the law allows, you agree to defend and hold Bar-All harmless from claims, losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your content or from your breaking these Terms.

If you got Mama Bot from the Apple App Store

These Terms are between you and Bar-All only, not Apple, and Bar-All, not Apple, is solely responsible for Mama Bot and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Mama Bot. If Mama Bot fails to meet any warranty that applies, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, for the app. To the fullest extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Mama Bot. Bar-All, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to Mama Bot or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws, and claims that Mama Bot infringes someone's intellectual property. You confirm that you aren't located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you aren't on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Your use of Mama Bot must also follow the App Store's usage rules. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date, and the app will ask you to accept the new version before you keep using it. If you keep using Mama Bot after changes take effect, you accept them.

General

If you have a concern, please contact us first. Most issues can be solved quickly and informally. If any part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest stays in effect. If we don't enforce part of these Terms, that isn't a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms to anyone else. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Bar-All about Mama Bot.
